Wedding brochure design for The Cargo Shed.
A refined A5 wedding brochure designed to elevate a newly renovated waterfront venue and attract high-intent couples.
The Cargo Shed, managed by Baycourt Community & Arts Centre, needed a beautifully crafted wedding brochure to introduce their newly renovated waterfront venue to engaged couples. With limited imagery and no established brand identity, the goal was to create a quiet-luxury marketing piece that felt polished, confident, and aligned with their long-term vision.
A venue with potential, seeking a refined first impression.
Baycourt approached me with a clear challenge: The Cargo Shed was ready to enter the wedding market, but they lacked the tools to attract bookings. Without existing marketing materials or a cohesive visual identity, they needed a wedding brochure design that could communicate the venue’s charm and possibilities with clarity and elegance.
This first piece of collateral needed to introduce the venue with confidence and quickly establish it as a desirable option for couples seeking a unique waterfront setting.
Limited visuals and no defined brand direction.
Like many newly renovated event spaces, The Cargo Shed had:
Minimal high-quality photography
No dedicated wedding brand identity
No consistent marketing materials
An upcoming wedding show deadline
A need to stay connected to council brand guidelines
The task was to craft a wedding brochure design that looked premium and intentional, despite those limitations.
The solution had to be sophisticated, cohesive, and capable of building trust at first glance.
A quiet-luxury design direction tailored to the venue.
Originally, the venue requested a simple A4 double-sided flyer.
I recommended elevating the piece into a folded A4 to A5 wedding brochure, instantly creating a more tactile, editorial feel.
The final design centred around:
Spacious, editorial layouts. Generous white space, calm pacing, and clear structure to reflect the venue’s atmosphere.
Elegant typography. A refined type pairing that communicates professionalism and quiet luxury.
Thoughtful hierarchy. Content arranged to guide couples through key information effortlessly.
Cohesion without a defined brand. Even without a wedding-specific brand identity, I created a visual direction that integrates seamlessly with council guidelines while giving The Cargo Shed its own refined voice.
Despite limited imagery, the brochure feels complete, elevated, and authentic.
A wedding brochure that instantly elevated the venue’s presence.
The finished brochure exceeded expectations and became a central tool for the team:
Strong engagement at the Bay of Plenty Wedding Show
Increased confidence in presenting the venue to couples
A polished, professional piece to anchor future marketing
A visual direction the venue can build upon
The brochure now acts as a premium touchpoint, something couples can hold, revisit, and trust.
